Mary Gresock
Teaching Artist, Singer, Actress, Voice Teacher, Stage Director
Mary Gresock has been a Teaching Artist with the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts since 1999 and has provided professional development for early childhood educators and professionals throughout the United States. She received a Bachelor of Music degree from The Catholic University with a concentration in music education, piano, and voice and a Masters Degree in Voice/Opera Performance from the University of Maryland, College Park. She has completed a series of residencies emphasizing the integration of the arts with math which helped to pave the way for the Institute’s STEM project.
A native of Washington D.C., Mary Gresock holds a BM from The Catholic University School of Music, with concentrations in music education, piano, and voice. After teaching classroom vocal music and private piano for seven years, she acquired a Masters degree in Voice and Opera Performance from the University of Maryland, College Park. In addition to graduate work, Mary developed acting and dancing skills through studies at The Studio Theatre, The Shakespeare Theatre in Washington D.C., and various dance studios throughout the metropolitan area. Mary currently combines her love of child education and the arts as a master teaching artist with Washington National Opera, Lyric Opera Baltimore and as Artistic Director of her own outreach company, Odyssey Opera Theatre. In addition to her educational artist work, Mary maintains a voice studio at Frederick Community College and in her home. She continues to sing and act professionally throughout the metropolitan area, having sung roles with such companies as Wolf Trap Opera, Annapolis Opera, Washington National Opera, The Studio Theatre, Signature Theatre, and the IN Series of D.C.
