M-J Mercanti-Anthony is principal of Antonia Pantoja Preparatory Academy—a public school for grades 6-12 in the South Bronx. He previously served as director of continuous improvement for schools across the South Bronx and is an adjunct professor at Drexel University. Originally a public high school history teacher, he holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and a master’s and doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.
