Kathryn Fishman-Weaver
Educator, Author, School Leader
Kathryn presents frequently on hope, heart, and asset-based approaches in schools. As a public school teacher, she worked to expand access and equity for neurodiverse students. She has continued in these values as the executive director of Mizzou Academy, a global and blended K-12 lab school at the University of Missouri. Through this role, she has led educational conferences and workshops around the world. Additionally, Kathryn serves as an associate teaching professor in Community Engagement and School Leadership and as a court-appointed special advocate for youth navigating the foster care system.
A prolific and celebrated author, Kathryn has written and co-authored six books including Wholehearted Teaching of Gifted Young Women (2018), When Your Child Learns Differently (2019), Brain-Based Learning with Gifted Students (2020), Connected Classrooms (co-authored with Stephanie Walter, 2022), and the Teaching Women’s and Gender Studies book series (co-authored with Jill Clingan 2023).
